I was selling my car and received an email from Chris Roering. He said: Thanks for the swift response, just to let you know that am okay with the condition and price of the item, am ready for its purchase and my form of payment will be by Paypal because i dont have access to my bank account online (i don't have internet banking with it)I'm on Job assignment..am a petroleum engr and i'm presently on rig., but i have it attached to my PayPal account, and this is why i insisted on using PayPal to pay,all i will need is your PayPal email address to make the payments..and if you don't have a PayPal account yet, you can set one up at pay pal, it cant take you less than 3mins to do that...
Hello,
I have just made the payments now and i expect PayPal to have emailed you by now if not you can check your e-mail for the payment confirmation, i sent total amount of $2,800 in all to your PayPal account,i added $600 meant for pick up agent and delivery and the western union fees also and the insurance, you will need to send the $600 to my pick up agent Via western union money transfer and get back to PayPal with the MTCN Details, So that PayPal can credit the total amount of $2,800 to your PayPal account as soon as you have emailed the western union details to them, Here is the pick up agent info needed to get the money sent through western union money transfer:
Paypal will need the details of the transfer once you have sent fund . . . 1.The MTCN number that is the 10 digits number on the Western Union receipt.
2.Sender's name and address you used sending the money. 3.Actual amount sent.
I will be waiting to read from you soon.
Regards
Then I got an emailing stating I had to pay the 600 to western union out of my pocket. I contact paypal and they had no information as to this transaction and nothing was pending.
Upon reading the internet I found more than just myself has been almost taken by this scam.
BEWARE.
