paypal charged me 4 times

I have been charged 4 times for one item, when i tried to pay an error message kept coming up it said to try again later i did the last time it went through then i noticed i had been charged 4 times. i sent a message to paypal contacted the seller oped a case but they are investgating the seller its not the sellers fault its ebay and paypal who had the error the paypal phone number doesnt work what can i do?

i think paypal are good at words, but short on deeds.
contact them - thats a joke - so many people said the phone was useless - could not get through
the money is not in my account - its on hold
its all shabby

I was also charged 4 times, 1 time its OK because I got what I paid for, second time paypal refunded me, for the third and fourth transaction I am still waiting for my refund... I emailed Green Man Gaming (seller) and they told me to contact Paypal because the transactions are on hold... I contacted paypal but no reply yet...

Hey everyone,
Apologies in regards to the delay in getting back to you on this.
There were some issues on the 28th of January that had resulted in some customers being debited more then once for a transaction through their PayPal accounts.
When this happened, we were able to determine all of the transactions that had been duplicated and the transactions should have been refunded within 24-48 hours.
I apologise that you have all had this experience but you should be able to see the transactions being refunded within 48 hours of when they were sent.
Please let me know if you need anything else in future.

On Jan 28, I TRIED to use my Paypal account to purchase a digital game from a known vendor twice. I got an authentication error for each try and I was NOT even able to complete the ordering process. Then I used my credit card DIRECTLY to purchase the game successfully. There should have been NO successful transaction on my Paypal account on Jan 28 but they charged me for both " failed transactions" anyway. The next day, they reversed one of the trasanctions, but does not seem to want to help me with the other one.
Come on, what am I supposed to do with 2 copies of the same game on the same account?

If you have paid twice for this item through your PayPal account and your credit card, you should contact the merchant directly and explain to them that the payment has been sent twice.
They should be able to look into this further on your behalf and then refund the duplicate payment.
If you wish, you can try contacting customer services in order to determine if there is anything that we can do to dispute the payment for you. We will then let you know if we can dispute the payment on your behalf or not.
