paypal charged me 4 times

I have been charged 4 times for one item, when i tried to pay an error message kept coming up it said to try again later i did the last time it went through then i noticed i had been charged 4 times. i sent a message to paypal contacted the seller oped a case but they are investgating the seller its not the sellers fault its ebay and paypal who had the error the paypal phone number doesnt work what can i do?

HI I have had the same problem today.....mine was charged 3 times ( I to kept getting that message when paying) and I have phoned the bank who confirmed all 3 charges have gone through to my credit card. I have emailed papal but a reply can take up to 3 days, also tried phone number....what a joke...Just keeps telling me to replace handset and try again.
please let me know if you get anywhere and how you did it .

I have been charged 3 times so far - for me this was 8.00am - been trying since then to get ebay - I had 12 online chats that failed.
It now says 61 minutes wait time on calls.
I rang seller - they said email only.
I emailed them to say duplicate orders.
the items are still in my basket on ebay and the items do not show in purchase history
If they know its messed up why don't they take the site down and fix it.
This is bound to be a bugged out update they load last night.
Come on ebay - fess up.

Good news - my seller has refunded me two of the payments.
So contact seller and advise them of duplicates
see how you get on.

Paypal also charge me 4 times, what is happening!!!!, I too got the message this transaction was not possible and kept trying but they still took the money everytime I tried to place the order. Ebay told me to contact pay-pal direct and gave me this number 0870 730 7191. Got through to someone whose English was very poor and although on checking my account it looks like they have reversed the payments, it is very confusing and I don't know what I have paid and what I haven't paid.

We have reversed the erroneous transaction back to your PayPal account or credit card. If the duplicate transaction came from your bank account, we have placed the funds back in your PayPal account balance and are working today to move them back to your bank account.
so we will have to see
