Evidence for dispute appeal

hi, I have had a buyer claim refused and I need to know what evidence I can submit to help an appeal?
short story is I bought a low mileage gearbox from Germany, sent it to a specialist firm to service and they found the differential and bearings were worn out and need replacing (highly unlikely on a low mileage box). It would cost more to send it back as I need to pay labour and postage back so just wanted a part refund.
any advice is much appreciated.
cheers
steve

Hi Steve-saunders,
Thanks for posting on the Community Forum about this.
In a case where you require a partial refund for an item you've purchased, we always recommend communicating with the seller directly, as our Buyer Protection policy only allows for a full refund once you have sent the item back at your own cost.
We can help with getting in touch with the seller if you contact PayPal Customer Support directly. You can find our contact details by clicking the 'Contact' option at the bottom of any page when logged in.
Hope this helps!
Sophie
