Hi,
I recently sold a designer jacket to somebody from the USA and it was sent from the UK. Four days after he received it, he claimed that it was "damaged" saying that it has "snags and pulls." The item was listed as new with tags, and I have 10 photos, good quality from all angles, and close up including photos of attached original labels. These images prove that there was no damage when I sent it.
I asked him a few times when it was at dispute stage for photos of the damage, and I never received any. Every few days he would reply saying he was going to send some. Anyway fast forward to tonight when he escalated it to a claim and says that he had sent photos of the damage and didn't receive a response - but I definitely did not receive any photos.
He says that there are "pulls and loose threads" but I'm really worried that he may have inflicted this very minor damage on the item himself just to get a refund. And it's for £1390.
Do you think it will go in his favour if he provides photos of this "damage"? I'm worried as I can't afford to lose these funds and I am afraid he may just pull a few threads to make it look damaged.
Really appreciate the help.

You may have to accept return of the jacket, if PayPal rules in favor of the buyer, and refund the buyer when the dispute is for Significantly Not As Described. Sellers are not protected from SNADs except for buyer's remorse type reasons (didn't like, don't fit, purchased in error, as described but not meet expectations, etc). Since the case has been escalated, PayPal is reviewing the dispute and provide any info to them/state your case when requested is all you can do. For that amount of money...don't sell what you can't afford to lose. I would not sell expensive clothing at eBay to be honest. I would try Poshmark which may have a policies more suited and specialized for high value merch.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
