Purchased something from a fake website.

The website's name is xkangmoba.com. It looks legitimate, like Wish, but once I bought something for 52 dollars I decided to investigate more bc I am an idiot. I figured out within 30 minutes of my purchase that this was a fake website because I googled their customer service email. I googled their name before buying anything but I did not find anything... at all. I **bleep** up. I am not sure what else to do other than create a claim and use the reason as "Item is missing" although I explained everything on the case file. I tried messaging and calling PayPal but corona has slowed everything down so I am not sure what to do now.

Just to be clear, I figured out that the website was fake within 30 minutes of the purchase and started a case on PayPal. I tried canceling the payment but within that 30 minutes, but the fake seller processed the payments so the payment was complete.

@aemeri have you checked your tracking number they gave? And by chance, was the seller's name Acyute. ltd or something? (May have spelled that wrong) After being a kind of rude, I was able to get PayPal to escalate the complaint because after providing the screenshots I did, it was clear that they were not reading them or my messages and simply taking the sellers word because of a tracking number. Long story somewhat short; they did indeed provide a tracking number. TRACK IT!! When I did, it showed that my item had been delivered to my address on 4/27/2020....I placed said order on 5/10/2020. How the hell did I get something weeks prior, and pay for it weeks later? I demanded they relook at my evidence and they ended up connecting me with someone else who immediately issued a refund and overturned their decision because initially they closed my case and ruled in favor of the scamming seller.

Also just wanted to throw out there I am somewhat perplexed that they somehow obtained an REAL tracking number for a package that was previously delivered to me so on PayPals end when they run it (and they DON'T look further into it to see delivery date, etc. So you need to and screenshot away) it appears as though the items were delivered and the seller fulfilled their obligations.

@Adrianadmtay screenshot as much as you can. Check your spam folder for email confirmations of the orders from the site. My order confirmations DID come, but they were in my SPAM folder. Contact your bank. Share this forum with them and fully explain to them what happened to you. I have faith you will get a resolution as my experience alone can prove without a shadow of a doubt they are some hacking scammers. Oh! Also, change your email passwords. Somehow these people were able to obtain a tracking number of a package I did recieve at my home and that is what made it so easy for PayPal to rule in their favor initially. Any questions for me, respond to this thread. I will try to help as many of you as I can by sharing details on how I fought this.

@MrsGunRu I'm dealing with the same thing. I ordered an item from a seller with a fake email and they sent an email saying my item had been shipped but no tracking number was listed. Three weeks later I filed a dispute and then they suddenly had a tracking number available. When it arrived it was a small envelope that contained a sheet of kids stickers. I ordered a nursery lamp for $45... Completely different item. But since I filed a dispute of not receiving the item and they ended up sending something with a tracking number anyways they closed my case in the sellers favor since they provided a tracking number. However they won't let me dispute that it's the incorrect item so I was basically scammed out if $45. I also found out the websites seemed to be fake. One doesn't exist and the other says this listing has expired. I messaged customer service more than once but no response.

Unfortunately I am in the same boat as well. Ordered an item, but was sent a fake tracking number to an item delivered in April 2020 but my order was made in May. Emailed xkangmoba, the seller (multiple times), and now have opened a case with PayPal. I just went to Xkangmoba to see if by any chance there’s an update or some type of reply/notice made to my account and the website is now shut down. I’m hoping PayPal will help me out.

I also fell for this same scam! I ordered back on April 18th. Got an update on the 22nd with a tracking # that never worked to this date. Only reason I chose to research is because I could never track the item. I even created an account for their site and sent 3-4 messages but of course no response. Now the site is shut down and I found their NEW domain by copying & pasting the item description and found this https://www.qmedindus.com/premium-home-room-divider-room-dividers-and-folding-privacy-screens-privac... I will make a dispute with my bank! This is definitely a fraudulent site...

Hi, I too have purchased items from this website, xkangmoba.com....which no longer exists. Just wondering if anyone has been successful in getting their money back from PayPal?

Please note all details provided to PayPal when complaint was first logged. Correspondence recieved that the company in question had until the end of the month of May to submit evidence of the handling of order that never materialised still with warnings given that I would be taking this matter further. Appreciative and very thankful that PayPal has now revoked decision and refunded monies in full
