Hello,
I am looking for some help. I purchased some items from someone and paid for the items by Goods and Services. The items weren’t as expected and she wasn’t forthcoming with issues a refund so I opened a PayPal dispute. I had to send the items back to Canada, this is where she had her PayPal address registered to, when the items were 100% sent from the UK, but PayPal insisted I sent them to the Canada address, so I did.
I have put in a claim to be refunded the £12 odd postage it cost to send to Canada and that is still pending their review.
This evening PayPal have emailed that my dispute for the goods has been refused and my claim denied base on “We've reviewed the transaction(s) and are denying your claim(s). This decision was made because we did not receive valid proof or tracking that you returned the merchandise.”.
This is not true. I had provided the tracking number and uploaded proof of this.
The item is still on route to Canada.
PayPal have closed the dispute so I cannot add any information.
What steps can I take to appeal this? I have done what they asked and it is unfair.
Thank you.

"On route" is not "delivered" and that's what PayPal based their decision on, not because you have proof of postage or provided the tracking number itself. When the tracking info shows, "delivered", then you can make your appeal.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

While that information is very helpful, I checked USPS with the Customs number for tracking to Hong Kong and it stops several months ago in Narita, Japan. Something tells me that the Hong Kong company (under name of "fashioncosy" online) will not report that they HAVE received the items I returned....therefore Paypal denied the claim and the Chinese KEEP my money!!!! VERY DECEITFUL and FRAUDULENT. Not happy!!
Thank you for the information you provided. Buyers BEWARE!

I have a similar issues as well when I purchase a computer desk last sept 27, 2020 to use it as a my working table in my small apartment. When the item arrived and opened the box, they delivered a small side table instead of a desk. Paypal told me to upload the pictures and I did, I also observed that there's certain limit capacity to send pictures so i limit the pictures I sent. I received now a denial from paypal and this is the exact words:
We received the case(s) you filed on October 15, 2020.
We have reviewed this transaction(s) and are denying your case(s). This decision was made because if an item is materially similar to the seller's description, we do not consider it to be significantly not as described.
We're sorry for any problems you may have experienced with the transaction(s).
So what do they mean by materially similar? I originally purchasing a computer desk table not a side table. How can that be similar? Can someone help Me?
