Bit of a strange one

Hi guys,

I have a bit of a strange situation happening with PayPal. Here goes:

I ordered some items from a company called "Vape Link" which claims to be based here in the UK, I stupidly read reviews after the order and was informed that they are based in China and pretend to be located here. Not wanting to wait 3 weeks for something I could get in 3 days I tried to report the problem to paypal as fraudulent activity but they said it wasn't and closed the case. Now I can't open a case at all, and the seller has marked the transaction as disputed. They are ignoring all contact from me and I'm kinda at my wits end waiting for paypal to get back in touch

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

When this happens (buying from a seller such as this online to find out something later), the thing to do was to try and cancel the order. If they won't, accept that this was a learning lesson on doing research on the seller first before you buy. Wait until the item arrives and if not, file an item not received or item not as described...you know go through the motions and perhaps meanwhile placing another order from a store in the UK, or not. But since you file an Unauthorized Payment dispute on a transaction you clearly, obviously paid for so it is not deemed "Unauthorized", PayPal closes the case on you. And now the seller may have suspicions on you, even though they try to front like they're in the UK but they're not. PayPal did nothing wrong here. Now you know to do your research before you buy. And Chinese sellers are not doing themselves and favors for doing this on top of probably having a lot of pre-existing stereotypical western stigmas already.

You have 180 days to file a dispute originally for item not received or not as described but I'm not sure or doubt if you can change the reason after filing an Unauthorized Payment dispute and it closing on you.  You'll have to call customer service to ask.
