Un-noticed by me someone in Germany sent gift certificates from my PayPal account presumably to himself so that it looks like I have sent the certificates to him. Then he has tried to purchase goods on-line from an electronics retailer using my linked bank account details. Fortunately there was no money in PayPal or the bank account that I used so the transaction was dishonoured. I reported it to PayPal and they determined that the activity was not suspicious or unauthorised and on Friday attempted to take the money from my account again.
I have notified the bank and asked them to disconnect the link between my bank and PayPal and I have also reported the transaction to the bank as being fraudulent.
Has anyone else had such an experience and how did it end for you?
