Hi, I tried posting this on the Ebay forums but no-one can help me. The help sections of Ebay are rubbish!
I bought 2 items from an Ebay seller yesterday and paid via Paypal. I've had the confirmation email from Paypal saying it's all been paid for, but for some bizarre reason Ebay is still saying I need to pay. The money has gone from my Paypal account and I have an email to prove it's been paid.
I tried emailing the seller yesterday to double check the payment had gone through on their end, but I've heard nothing back. I need these items as they're xmas presents so now I'm a bit stumped! It's been over 24 hours since I bought the items so I don't think it's just been held up.
Any ideas? I've been a buyer/seller for years using Ebay & Paypal and never had this problem before!
Help?

Hey there, apologies if you feel you have been getting the “run around” from eBay. What you need to do is to go to the history log of your PayPal account, and confirm from there, whether the payment has completed successfully or not. If its status is “completed”, then you have done your side of the deal.
Please continue to work with the seller, or await their response. Hopefully this issue will work itself out. Here’s how you check your transactions.
1. Log into your PayPal account at www.paypal.co.uk
2. Click ‘History’ near the top of the page.
3. Use the filter options to narrow your search, and then click ‘Show’.
Once you find the transaction you are looking for, click the Payment Status link for that transaction (e.g. ‘completed’) to learn what the status means.
You can also click the ‘Details’ link for more information and options related to that transaction.

Thanks - I have checked and it says status is 'completed', the money has gone from my account.
I've managed to speak to the seller who says on their end it's coming up as paid but the payment hasn't cleared yet, which is a bit strange. I've been using this account for years and it isn't a new card or anything like that. I was buying items a week ago that had no problem! Not really good when these are xmas presents!
I'm guessing the fault lies with Ebay somewhere if the Paypal transaction has gone through? What do I do?

Double check they invoiced you with the correct e-mail address, you can see this on the details of your transaction.
If it is correct then the payment has completed and the item should be sent to you, you can open a dispute for the payment if they won't send it....

Help! I contacted the seller again yesterday to suggest we cancel the transaction as payment apparently still hasn't cleared on their end - I needed these xmas presents for Saturday so now I'm REALLY peeved that they won't be turning up.
The money has gone from my account but the seller says until the payment clears they can't issue a refund! What do I do now - how do I go about getting my money back?

Hi superstar,
If the status of the payment on your PayPal account showing as completed there may be a delay with eBay updating their systems to show the item has been paid. When an item is not showing as paid an email is automatically sent to request payment.
I would suggest that you contact your seller to confirm if they have received your payment. Alternatively you can send them a screen shot of the payment to confirm that you have paid.
I hope this helps

Well I emailed the seller on the 16th to ask what the status was - havn't heard back. So today I've opened a INR dispute direct with paypal (since I can't do it via Ebay). I don't know any other way of getting my money back - does anyone else?

Well I finally got the money back over the xmas period after raising the dispute with Paypal - so basically seller was lying all along about not getting the money from me. No explanation, no nothing. Will probably be leaving them bad feedback. And no help from Paypal either, may I add.
