"Risk Alert" Red Flag next to a payment I have received...???

Hi all,

 

First time I've ever posted on here (Didn't even know it existed until now!)

 

I have just checked my morning payments, and I've seen that against one item there is a red flag with the message "Risk Alert" - but I can not find any information on this website about what this means exactly!!!

 

When I open the details of the payment,its all green and says it's a confirmed address and OK to post...So which message do I go by!  OK, so the item I'm posting is only £2.99 (+£1 P&P) - but if it's a fraud case, I don't want anything coming back to bite me in the bum because I ignored the red flag!!

 

Any advice on what this is and how to manage it would be greatly appreciated!

Wish I could help but I have exactly the same issue. Three incoming payments all red flagged with no indication as to why... Confused..

this only seems to of started today,had payments go into my account yesterday with no problems,then today a sting of red flags!!!! i have checked all buyers and feedback they have and all seems well.very concerned with the risk alert message,paypal needs to explain this and do it quickly

Hi

I to have red flags next to payments received and wondered what they were for - which is why I looked on here!!!

Would be interested to find out if anyone has managed to find out what they are for!

I am aware that paypal was down for a while/

Thing is if you don't send out the item there is a risk of negative or low feedback ratings - you can't win!

I have also received a 'Red Flag' Alert and yet when I check the buyers feed back it is 100% positive. Is it safe to post the items out?  Anybody any ideas????????????????

I too have a red flag against a payment I received this morning. Again all the payment details look absolutely fine. No information whatsoever in the Help section so I called PayPal for an explanation. The reply was that the red flag shows that my transaction is being protected by PayPal, there is no problem with the payment and I can go ahead and post my item.

I pointed out that a red flag with a message of "Risk Alert" is not very helpful in this case. The operative said that this has already been noted and was being addressed. I also pointed out the lack of information in "Help", and again the operative said this was being addressed.

Lets wait and see....................

Thank you for your answer Bobski, like you say, it would have been helpful if Paypal showed some indication as to what the flag meant before marking the payments.
