I've done some research already regading these types of emails, but the email I received today addressed my first and last name, then states that my account has been suspended and I need to log in, etc. So I did log in, but using a new browser and I didn't find any open cases in my resolution center...

My question now is... is the email a scam? I've only read that the scam emails addresses you as ''valued customer'' or the like and never your registered name. But this email I received shows my name....

Hi mkxkawaii3,

for your own safety you should never click links on suspicious emails. If you did click a link on this email you received you should contact PayPal's customer support immediately to rectify the problem. You should also change any password information.

If your account has been compromised by a phishing email and you have a bank account or credit card linked to your PayPal account you should contact your bank and card issuer immediately for security reasons.

Hello thanks for replying. I didn't click on the link in the email. I was just wondering if the email is a phishing/scam email since it's from Paypall.com with the double 'l'. I haven't contact Paypal or anything yet though.

It seems to be indeed a phishing email and you should report the entire email to PayPal.

I too have experienced this and when I tried to remove my bank account details from my Paypal account the following messege appears:

You may not remove your back-up funding source while an Instant Bank Transfer is still pending.

Even though I haven't used my account for a month, not too sure what to do.

Hi Ellieelephant,

TsufakTuna is completely right.

It's best to report any email you are worried about to us here by forwarding the email to spoof@PayPal.com.

Our spoof team will review the email and will always come back to you to let you know if it was genuine or not.

Hope this helps,

Conor
