isn't it time paypal allowed the re-linking of a previously used bank account?

can't one just verify ownership of the used account and re-link it? why should one have to waste time opening a new bank account just to withdraw their money?

(this is what i have to do) because i opened a new paypal a while back after closing my last one for sometime, i couldn't sell some items so i turned to ebay again.

it's a dumb policy, you can open a new paypal account with your same details yet you can't re-link your own bank account because it's been used before "by you".

You can re-link it as long as you "removed it" from your previous paypal account before you closed it.

the thing is i did that right before closing the old account, but since then i've never been able to re-link my account and contacting support both over the phone and email was hopeless, they refused to let me relink it.

it's silly that they can't even look it up and see that it's no longer linked....but now i have to arrange to make a new account just to get my ebay profits. it's annoying.

"For security purposes, your bank account cannot be linked because it has been previously linked to another PayPal account. Please link a different bank account."

lets me re-link my card but can't complete verification because of above error. why can't paypal support resolved it??

Well you are supposed to be able to use a bank account x3 times before you can't re-add it if you have previously closed accounts.

Remember some paypal customer services staff are just call centre agents and don't know everything but you have to go via them to get the new bank account added so can I suggest this >>> as its another way to contact customer services and you may get someone that will give you other advice.

If you do can you come back and update us as that is how we learn and help others.

Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?

It's: https://www.facebook.com/PayPalUK and @AskPayPal for Twitter.
