Hi everyone,

As a lot of you may be aware and have been affected by, there was a delay with withdrawals that were initiated on the PayPal website in the early part of this month. There was a significant delay and there was a lot of people affected by it and it took a while to be resolved by our technical team. I can only sincerely apologise for any delays that you may have incurred.

This has been resolved since and all of the money should be appearing in your bank accounts by now. If any of you are still having issues or delays, please contact us directly so that we can review your account specifically.

You also should have had the £5.00 GBP withdrawal fee's refunded back your PayPal balances.

David.

I'm a business user and usually withdraw using the CHAPS / Faster payment, 5 days a week, costing me around £100 in fees per month. Now, I've not been as badly affected as some users on forum, but have had a few delays, which seem to be random, and can't be planned for in terms of cash flow, which can cause me problems.

What I would like, and I'm sure, most of the previous posters on this topic would like, is a brief explanation of the problem and the plan and time scale to put it right - I don't think that's to much ask.

I totally agree with you, i paid a fee for a same day transfer... yesterday, but its still not in my bank account and its a complete pain, if paypal cantake the £5 charge for this service and royal mail can be paid through my paypal account for postage and paypal can also take selling fees from my funds...Then why can't I access my own funds when i paid extra to be able to do this on the same day.

Hi there hana1986,

Your withdrawal will show as 'Completed' on your PayPal account as soon as the funds leave us however this full process takes 2-3 working days for the funds to clear through to your bank account.

Would you be so kind and tell us why does it takes up to 72 hours to do a "random security check on random accounts"? My transfer reaches into my bank acount in less than 24 hours after it says "Completed" on the transaction, but my problem is the time that takes from "Pending" to "Completed", as I've just been exaplained that this is a security measure.

Is this "verification" done manually?

That maybe the most sensible question I've seen on these forums. I think this is a good point, while I agree that Paypal should check that people aren't doing anything illegal e.g. money laundering, why does it take so long? 72 hours to do a check?!

I made the point to Payal that banks don't do these checks - when I go to withdraw my money from my bank I don't get a message saying 'we're reviewing your transaction for 3 days' . Paypal simply said 'I understand where you're coming from'.

If banks don't do these checks then why do Paypal? The fact that they won't explain themselves makes it difficult to believe it's not for their own gain.

I have had none of the £5 returned, this has been promised several times, but has not happened, I'd say around 12 of my payments were held up for days.
