Hi everyone,

I'd like to apologise about the delay in giving an update on this. We have been investigating your queries and responses.

Nowadays, we aim to withdraw money to your bank within 2 hours of you initiating it from your PayPal account. This is much faster than before.

However, our system delays a small amount of withdrawals for security reasons. These will usually take 21 hours to complete, a very small amount can take 72 hours. These will show as being “under review” in your PayPal account.

You can find the small print in our UA in section 6.2.b.3.

P.S. While I hope this sheds some light on the situation, I understand your frustration and confusion. I’ll make sure to forward your feedback, too.

Thanks,

David.

Despite my withdrawal of £70 going through review successfully within 24 hours last week, PayPal have put another withdrawal of £80 through 24-hour review again today.

* I have no eBay sales

* I am using the same bank account I have used for years

* I am using the same computer and internet connection as normal

I have just tried to withdraw funds to my bank account & once again it will take longer because of "security reasons".

I do not understand this. Sometimes it takes 2 hours but more often than not it take 24 or even 72 hours.

I can transfer between my bank accounts & from bank to bank with immediate effect, so why does paypal take so long???

I can only think it is for their own gain.

Wow! So that's why my money has not been sent to my bank account yet? Because paypal is holding on to it and reviewing it? How ridiculous!

I do commissions for a living, I draw for people for money. I of course expect to be paid less than $150 (which is the amount to transfer free of charge), so every withdrawal is around less than $150, and I pay the $0.50 fee. Why is it such a concern for paypal to have the money reviewed? Do you know how much time they are wasting doing that alone and angering so many paypal users including myself?

Like some have stated before, withdrawals should be as instant as withdrawing money from your bank to your paypal!

I just wonder how much longer do I have to wait. It's not their money to have to hold on to. I worked for that money. It's mine, so I think it's highly reasonable that I have my own money in my own bank account about now!!
