Hi Joseph1659,

It is not possible to add another customer to your PayPal account. It is however possible to add another user to a Business PayPal account as an alias. This means that we can discuss the account with yourself or your wife but you would need to upgrade your account to a Business account if you do not already have one Smiley Sad

If you upgrade your PayPal account to a Business Account, you can then register your wife's credit/debit card information on the account as long as you both have the same surname. I do not think that you will be able to register a bank account that is in your wife's name as the PayPal account will still be in your name and your wife will be an alias on the account. There are also no additional fees applied if you upgrade your PayPal account to a business account so that you can add your wife as a user on your PayPal account.

You can upgrade your account by following the steps below:

  1. Go to www.paypal.co.uk and log in to your account.
  2. Click ‘Profile’ near the top of the page.
  3. Click ‘Personal/Business Information’ under ‘Account Information.’
  4. Click ‘Upgrade.’
  5. Enter your business information and click ‘Submit.’

With immediate effect you can manage your PayPal account under your company's name, add additional users with separate login information and access rights, and take advantage of the wide range of other benefits of a PayPal business account.

Note:

  • You need to include a contact name on your Business account.
  • Your business name appears on all PayPal transactions and emails.
  • Your Business account retains all of the transaction records and history from your Premier account.

To add additional users and to manage their permissions, follow these steps:

1. Log in to your PayPal account at www.paypal.co.uk
2. Click ‘Profile’ near the top of the page.
3. Click ‘Manage Users’ in the ‘Account Information’ column.
4. Click ‘Add User’.
5. Enter the user's name, a user ID (alias), and a password. The user will use this ID and password to log in to your PayPal account.
6. Check the box for each of the privileges you're allowing this user.
7. Click ‘Save’.

I hope this information helps Smiley Happy

Hi Lovemyseo,

Firstly, I wouldn't advise that you add additional users to a business account unless you are running a business through the PayPal account. If you are only using the payments for personal buying and selling, you should each use seperate accounts in order to use PayPal.

Another thing is that you can only register financial information that is registered to the main PayPal account holder. You won't be able to register any credit/debit cards on to the PayPal account in another persons name.

I hope this information answers your questions.

David.
