How to re-establish direct debit to my bank account

I accidentally removed paypal from my direct debit list on my bank account and now when I try and make a payment from my bank account a few days later I get an email saying that my bank rejected it and the payment was taken from my card...

It once said my bank account was removed from my paypal account becasue it happened too many times but it wan't removed.

 

Now I cannot remove my bank account becasue it always says there is a pending transaction and have to wait 5-7 days...

 

Any ideas on how to re set-up direct debit?

Hi there Wozza123,

 

You should firstly review the History section of your account in order to determine if you have made any payments from your PayPal account within the last 5 to 7 working days. If you have, the payments may be trying to be debited from your bank account and as a result, will fail when we get the refusal from your bank.

 

If there have been no payments initiated from your PayPal account within the last 5 to 7 working days, you should try contacting customer services. There was a technical issue with this recently that resulted in customers not being able to remove their bank account information as they were receiving the same error message that you were getting. By contacting customer services, we will be able to remove the bank account for you so that you can try registering the information back to your PayPal account.

I too have had problems with transferring funds from my bank account. As my paypal account has been dormant for more than 6 months the bank cancelled the direct debit with paypal. I have (before finding this out) paid for items bought on ebay with an echeque which has 'failed' and would like to know how I can pay the seller in the meantime though paypal?

Hi there lesleyaland,

 

While you are in the process of setting up your bank account again on your PayPal account, you can make a payment to your seller using a credit/debit card that is registered on your PayPal account if you wish. By doing this, you would be able to make a payment directly to your seller in order to be able to receive the item as soon as possible.

 

If you are having difficulties trying to register your bank account back on to your PayPal account, you may need to contact customer services in order for us to assist you with registering your bank account to your PayPal account. When you contact customer services, we would need to reset your bank account for you and then you would be able to register it again to your PayPal account to complete the verification process on your account again.
