Sending limit?

After having my PayPal account since 2004 without any complications, I recently received this message: “You recently hit your PayPal sending limit and had your payment declined, but this is easy to fix.” Upon checking my spending limit, my account clearly states that out of the $2,000 spending limit on verified accounts, my remaining sending limit is $1,009.38 USD. Why am I getting this message when I‘m only nearly half way to my limit? I was still able to pay for an item I won on Ebay with my account balance. What I need to know if is I will be able to continue to charge purchases using PayPal with my credit card without verification? I do not feel comfortable revealing my bank account information online. And also, will I still be able to receive payments? I’m assuming this applies only to sending payments and not receiving? I am receiving a payment this week, and I am concerned it won’t go through. I have emailed PayPal support two days ago, and am still waiting for a response. I was attempting to do some Christmas shopping early on Ebay, but I am now concerned that I won’t be able to pay for an item once I’ve won an auction… Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Something very weird is going on and Paypal is completely silent even when you ask for help.  They wanted not only my bank infomation but passwords to my bank information.  You have got to be kidding.  I have used paypal for years but will not again.  When trying to get information to fix this, Paypal refuses to help.  I will lose two items on ebay and will not shop again.  I wish ebay would deal with the monster that Paypal has become.  Beyond lousy customer service.

Thank you for your reply. I’ve haven’t experienced many problems with PayPal in the past, but it has certainly been 24-72 hours since I emailed their customer support. No response. I just need to know if I can receive payments, that’s the urgent issue. The question of whether or not I can send payments with a credit card will have to come later…

I am also a victim of the $10,000.00 was not able to be sent false alert.

I decided to remove my bank account 3 days ago from my paypal because I never use it to pay and I ususally do not sell items. Little did I know my account would fall apart.

So, 2 days ago I used "buy it now" on ebay to pay for an item which cost under $8.00

After sending payment, I received a message that I reached my sending limit and to click here to remove limit.

I never authorized a $10,000.00 payment, nor would I ever send that kind of money through paypal.

It is not right for paypal to demand your bank account information. I had my account over 10 years and if I did not forget my wallet at home I would have cancelled it before.

The lady on the phone said I will not be able to send money with paypal until I replace the bank account number. I told her that if I had a bank account number linked with my account, someone would have been $10,000.00 richer. Somehow, she had nothing to say about that.

A credit card is enough paypal. A credit card has enough links.

“A credit card is enough PayPal.” - I agree. I don’t understand why it says I have reached my spending limit, when it is clear I have not even come close. I never received a response from PayPal support. I did, however, discover on my own that I am still able to receive payments, and send them from my account balance.

i dont get why they are REQUIRINg bank info nowadays. I created a new, separate paypal account for a small business unit under my main company and now I can't get any money that was sent to that account out AT ALL because they REQUIRE a bank account to be linked before you cna even send any money! All I want to do is transfer it to my main account so i can close the second one (since i added the email to my main account anyway). and now I have money stuck in a paypal account that i cant even spend because I only have one bank account! Paypal is holding my money hostage Smiley Mad

Yes ,I have spent almost 10,000 dollars through pay pal and they are shutting me off unless i link my bank account, NOT HAPPENING. I have had zero problems since i started using them, and my credit card account has been paid promptly ,so why do they need my bank account? They dont , so if you dont link the bank account , you can get a PAYPAL MASTERCARD !! What a scam!!   ADIOS PAYPAL & EBAY !!

I know!  I keep getting false error messages.  They keep saying that they are “improving” the website but so far I don’t see it.  It’s just making it worse on members.  The purpose of having it is so that we don’t have to give out private information but now that’s what they keep asking for!  That makes no sense unless you’re a seller.  They even took away the option of using prepaid cards!  The point of those cards is to be safe!
