Hi there, As far as im aware paypal never ask u for ur personal details etc in an email! I wouldnt reply to this until u know for sure that its from paypal. You could even try foning them just so ur not giving any of ur private details online just as a precotionary measure.
I had an email that sayed my account had been tryed by a third party at paypal and i just sent it to paypal as a spoof/spam email and they delt with it. Im sure thats what they want u to do anyway send it to them so they can see it for themselfs!
Dont under any circumstancies give out ur details until u know for a definate that its legitamate.
I hope this helps you out abit!

Hi there LESSOSONE,
To be honest, when these types of emails are sent out to customers, they would be sent to hundreds of people at the same time. For example, there may be a few hundred people that have received the very same email from someone claiming to be PayPal.
They would try to send these emails to as many random email addresses as possible hoping that some people would respond and provide the sensitive information that they have asked for. I would think that there may be a few people that don't even have a PayPal account.
I wouldn't think that there is anything for you to worry about if you have not supplied any information through the email. If you have clicked on a link in the email, you should try doing a full scan for viruses in order to make sure that there is no viruses or malicious software after being installed to your home computer.
I hope this information helps,
David.

Hey there,
If they have given financial information out, they would probably be best getting a new card etc.
The password would just have to be changed to make sure that no one else has access to the account.

only new to this - but i got an e-mail tonight, which sounds the same as yours - i got a link directly to paypal - which i used (maybe i shouldn't have) but it also stated if i did not confirm all my details including bank account details then my pay-pal account would be closed as fraudulant - within 24hrs - when i accessed it through e-bay everything looked fine - but i am a bit worried as i have money in there - don't know who to speak to about it - they put a number on the e-mail for ref it read PP845371835 - They stated my account had been used from different locations

MAGGIE 50 AS LONG AS YOU HAVE NOT GIVE ANY PERSONAL DETAILS YOUR OK.IF IT IS A SUSPECTED EMAIL FROM PAYPAL FORWARD IT TO SPOOF@PAYPAL.COM. YOU CAN ALSO CONTACT HELP AT PAYPAL(DO NOT USE SUSPECT LINK).ALSO IMPORTANTLY IF YOU SUSPECT ANY WRONG DOING ON YOUR ACCOUNT EVEN IF YOU HAD NO PROBLEM WITH THE SUSPECT EMAIL CONSIDER CHANGING YOUR PASSWORDS TO HOTMAIL AND EVEN EBAY.REMEMBER THOUGH IF YOU CHANGE AND YOU WERE SELLING ITEMS CHANGE EACH ORDER TO NEW EMAIL ADDRESS OR WHEN SOLD YOU WILL NOT GET PAID AND WILL CAUSE YOU A LOT MORE PROBLEMS.FINALLY HAVEING SENT TO SPOOF SITE DELECT SUSPECT EMAIL YOU CAN PRINT FIRST IF YOU LIKE AND KEEP FOR YOUR RECORDS.
BEST WISHES,
LES.
