I have spent hours looking through the Paypal website and forum looking for an answer as to why I am unable to link my bluebird account. I want to be able to transfer from Paypal to my bluebird account. I have added the card successfully, but it will not allow me to link the actual bank account to deposit to. Every single post on the forum regarding this is UNANSWERED, therefore, I am not finding the answers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The only response I get when I try to add the routing and account numbers is:
"Sorry, we are not able to process your request. Please try again later."

from the information on the Bluebird.com website: *Please note that the Bluebird Account number and Bank Routing numbers found on the Bluebird Direct Deposit Form can only be used for adding your paycheck or Government Payments to the Bluebird Account and cannot be used for other payments.
However, you *can* link a debit card to bluebird for immediate access to funds.

Not a dead issue. I just found this forum trying to figure out why I couldn't transfer my balance to my Bluebird account. I get 5% cash back on everything I buy through Bluebird, so I was trying to transfer my paypal balance. However, I get a "We are unable to process your request - Unknown Error" message. Ugh! Does anyone know if this will be fixed? It looks like it's been a year since this problem started.

The answer is really very very simple as to why they will not let you fund pre-paid cards from PayPal anymore, and that answer is that at the time this all started they were releasing THEIR OWN prepaid debit card, which automatically links between your account so you can spend money directly from your paypal account.

So yeah, there you go, that's 100% of the reason. I thought trying to be a monopoly was illegal, but I guess that's just me. I guess they'd rather call it "over-competing" or something.

Well, of course. But, I'm sure PayPal would much rather force everyone to pay their fees if they want to use a prepaid card. If people don't like your service, force them to use it. The motto of the century.
