I can sympathize with the predicament and the emotional stress from the sudden passing.
This becomes a serious legal issue. It is likely the account will be locked as soon as PayPal realizes the account holder died. That's what happens to bank accounts. The executer of the estate (or whatever they call it these days) would then have the authority to access financial accounts and settle as appropriate.
Do you have your own PayPal regular account? Is it associated with your own PayPal account.
I think you need to expain the details aboutr each each and the bank accounts associated with each account. Without that information, there is no way offer possible outcomes.
Caution, however, as you imply there are some links between your 2 account. Attempting to do ANYTHING with the account of a deceased person is likely to seen as suspicious. You need to be extremely careful to make sure you don't do anyting which would raise suspecion. Problem is, however, is that you apparently have and now you are under investigaton for fraud.
I think it's time to come clean on all your activities.
