@DPCreations

pAYPAL now covers services, but not digital goods etc.

seller has to produce proof service has been performed and accepted.

But if this is a chargeback from his cc issuer, then it is a different story.

Paypal is not for every transaction,in some cases, insist on non credit card payment (if you have the bargaining edge)

Where do you find information about seller protection for services?  I've looked through the user agreement and can't find any exceptions for services.  What am I missing?

Some countries or markets are more services oriented so services are protected.  For example, in India web dev, etc services are covered.  How?  Perhaps through 3rd party online service marketplaces or just proof of work done.

This is the link that @venkatesh3 posted and it is the PayPal India site

https://www.paypal.com/in/webapps/mpp/paypal-seller-protection

https://www.paypal.com/in/webapps/mpp/paypal-seller-protection/faq

It says that web development, design services are covered.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

I alsl sent all email proofs and i have won the case. i am a seller like you provided service and its proof was just one email ss and they could makout buyer is a scammer. Its your duty to help paypal in investigation if you are expecting help from them. If you dont present properly in court of law there also you will be punished even if you are inocent. If you are honest fight back and help paypal to make the net safe for all. Dispute 1st opened on paypal so now i dont even need to fear of cc charge back. You should keep your acc in good standing if you are willing a good help from paypal.

I lost my case as well for digital services even though i had a history with this individual who decide he needed money and told his credit car company his card was stolen and all charges were unathorized. PayPal said American Expresss did not even accept any rebuttal or appeal and therefore not up for seller protection. Whatever!

Fortunately it was not that much money, too little to really take to court, but I still don't like having a negative balance and getting taken and fraud is fraud. Plus when you state charges are unauthorized you are signing under "penalty & perjury"  so perhaps I can threaten criminal litigation.  I wish Paypal would better protect sellers...

if this is a case first open on Paypal and the seller wins, then Paypal will protect her despite the cc chargeback.

But if this case is never open on Paypal but open with the buyer cc issuer, then Paypal does not have to offer any protection.

thats the difference.

I believe is PayPal who needs to be more proactive against scammers.

It is extremely easy to open a claim for any reason, and yet, it extremely hard to appeal PayPal decision.

If the scammer wins the case, the buyer is also penalized with a fee.  However, if the scammer loses, well he doesn't lose anything.

I just lost a case in which a customer purchased a physical product and asked me for local pick up/delivery since she lived near my house.  A couple of weeks later, she filed an unauthorized purchase claim.  Despite providing PayPal proofs of (my telephone bill) showing several calls from the customer's phone, PayPal decided in the customer's favor.  I want to take this case to the court, and if PayPal does not cooperate, I might even take legal action against PayPal.  I know many sellers have been victims of the same fraud, and we are all frustrated the way PayPal handles these frauds.  If anyone is willing to start a class action, please, let me know.

I wouldn't be so sure about trusting PayPal decisions...
