Question about returning items bought by accident

I purchased two items by accident. Don't remember how, but based on where and what is, we can narrow it down. At first i thought I was sent two of the same orders, so I called right away but it was the weekend. I emailed and left a voice mail. Monday I received an email and I was informed that I made two orders instead of one. That was it. No instructions on how to proceed with a correction. I sent a second email saying that i had made a mistake and accidentally ordered two items and that I intended to return the second. I was given an RA code and was told to write it on the outside of the box along with the original receipt. I then sent an email again today requesting a return shipping label. If they do not comply I will have to pay almost 40 dollars for shipping. If I was returning both items then yes the fault would be mine. But since I'm keeping one and returning the extra, I shouldn't have to pay for shipping. When I bought from them, it was a promotional free shipping on all orders period. Of the nearly dozen years I've been a PayPal member this has never happened. So it's not like I have a habit of making these mistakes. I just simply want a full refund and go on about my business. Please advise.

What company?

What were the satisfaction details about the promotion?  Did it specifically state conditions for return?

What was in the original offer about returns.

 

If the company offers a refund upon return, then that's what you do if you want a refund.  No one told you to make 2 purchases.

I'm saying i made a mistake. PayPal offers to help and asked me to post it here first. So I did. Also, yes genius I did read their policy in returns and just like you, wrote down a bunch of gibberish that doesn't make sense and it didn't cover what steps to take when people make mistakes and order the same thing twice. I'm sorry I'm not perfect like you ma'am. Have a great rest of the night.

Wow. What I'm saying is, PayPal offers to assist us customers. As long as we take the proper steps that they want us to take, they will decide the outcome. You and that other lame, are just stating the obvious. I don't need that. How is that going to help? Are you that needy that you want attention even on here? Since there's nothing about how to correct my issue, on paypal and the online store I purchased from, then I'm going to use my right and do whatever I can to not lose money. I'm looking at losing almost half of what I paid in shipping. Over a simple mistake. Did you read that. A MISTAKE. it's not like I'm sending both back, Im keeping my end of the bargain and sticking with the purchase I made, I'm just not keeping the accidentally ordered purchase. Does that make sense to you. If you want I can get some crayons and draw some stick figures for you and lame number one, yes, that make you lame number two, and upload on here a drawing that maybe you'll understand. Let me know, I'll do it for you. Hey... Wanna buy an extra car buffing kit I have laying around, I don't really have a use for it because I ordered it by MISTAKE. I'll give you a good deal.
