I bought a csgo account, but was told to go first sent him the money via family/friends after he had recieved the payment I told him I sent it on skype he removed me never responded to any questions I had for him. I was scammed of 25.00 USD but the problem is I don't exactly know how to get my money I have screenshots of the skype conversation and everything proving he did indeed scam me. I opened a dispute but its been almost a month now with my dispute not resolved I really have no where else to go with this help than here.

EDIT: I just saw that the dispute I opened was closed but I don't understand all they did was send emails to the seller which he never responded so what the heck man why would paypal close my dispute when it was never resolved whats going on!!!!

They closed your dispute because you did not buy anything.

The friends / family option is to send "gifts" to close family members or mates. As it is not used to buy items then there is no need for any buyer protection.

So by using that option not only did you assist him in evading paypal fees for selling goods but you also negated any paypal buyer protection you would have had and sent him a gift of $25.

If he was not a mate or family member why would you use that option?

If you were buying goods then you use the goods / services option and then you would have had buyer protection.

So if anyone you do not know and buying goods from asks you to send money through the family/friends option, don't do it!  There's a high probability that they will pull this same move and leave you out of pocket with no delivery of your purchase.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
