I think I read somewhere that the tap/pass system had some problems, but I thought it was fixed. It may be just AmEx. We do events but haen't yet received any of those cards, just the chip card. We've had the bluetooth keypad reader for several months.
I think PayPal Here app just updated on our Android devices last week. Maybe they fixed the problem.

I continue to have the exact same problem as you with Apple Pay. I try to promote the service, and I have one customer that I get the "unable to read card" error on and he is able to use Apple Pay elsewhere with no problem. Makes me look like a jerk.
