Problem in payng with Paypal on Ebay

Hi there,

I won the acution for the specific item on Ebay. When i tried to pay. I chose "Pay with PayPal". Then authorization windows occures and after granting user/password of paypal it is converting me the cost of this item in my national currency.

The plastic card that i am using primary currency is in USD.

Then i was surfing in the internet how to change the primary currency in Paypal. It was impossible to do that. After that i upgrade my account to business account or merchant. after that i could change the currency on USD. (what a mess) . At last i thought that all this head aches are finished but still the picture is same. Some how ebay is still converting it on my national currency.

Question N1: why is it impossible to change currency without updating account to business or merchant?

Question N2: why the **bleep** is it converting to my national currency (GEL)? I have a currency on my card in Dollars.

Actually I did not expect that it would be needed so many stupid procedures to make a simple payment.

Any ideas with this issue?

Q1: It is possible to change your primary currency without upgrade to business account by clicking on the word "PayPal Balance >" on Summary page, then click Manage Currencies in the next window.

Q2: During PayPal checkout, do you see a "Change Conversion Option" link under the quoted amount to pay in GEL?

My colleague helped me with this isssue. I did it.

BUT,

I have still question regarding Paypal account.

I had a simple paypal accound and during the troubleshooting the following problem i updated my account to merchant.

Q1: is it possible to revert my account type to simple that i had from the begining.

Q2: when you have a merchant account will i be charged lets say after month with some type of fee?

Q1: Yes, contact PayPal customer service to do that

Q2: Unless you sign up for PayPal advanced selling tools, like PayPal Pro or their merchant gateway services, no.  You still get charged the same per transaction fees as personal account, unless you have very high volume of transactions where you are eligible for lower fees, in which case, you might need a Business account anyway.
