Pay After Delivery - why not available???

I have come to LOVE the Pay After Delivery option.  As a person who does NOT own or use credit cards, this was my way of being able to make purchases before the funds were available so that I was SURE they would arrive on time.  But I was HIGHLY dismayed to find this evening, when I went in and made a larger-than-usual purchase in the hopes of not having to pay for it until 2 weeks from now (well AFTER my next pay day!), it was not provided as an option...but it was too late to cancel the transaction, so I had to pay for it anyway!  I would NOT have purchased this item tonight if I had known I wouldn't have 2 weeks to pay for it.  Now I'm financially strapped for the next 2 weeks.  If this is not going to be consistently offered as an option, I WISH that information would be provided IN ADVANCE...before we commit to buy the item!  😞  Not cool.

Seems like a "Teaser". Paypal gives that option for a short time frame and then without warning they take it away without notice......  this way they boost their sales ratio. Its business. Paypal loves it and hopes YOU don't catch on.

Ok guys, I have figured something out to get PAD to work somewhat for me.

I won two items on ebay from different sellers just a couple minutes ago. I tried checking it out for both items at the same time. So I enter my paypal log in and continue. The instant fund transfer appears doing a multiple items check out, no e-check like what I was getting at check out for a single item before. I then hit the back button on the browser till I get to the review order page but this time I choose pay only one seller, which I selected the item with the higher amount and I logged in again and WALA!!!! PAD appears. I paid for that item but just what I thought for the other item I'm only getting the e-check option. I'll be cheking out for that item through my phone but at least I got to use PAD for the item I wanted.

It's going to stink doing it this way if this is how I'll be able to use PAD from now on but I'm goint to buy small items after I win the big items I want and try checking out this way. Now I hope this method works all the time or else....

I suggest trying it but I'm not responsible if it doesn't work.

That method worked for me....however when I was left with one transaction it did not.  I still have no faith or trust.  But this is a monumental step to proving that something is indeed glitched, buggy and messed up in the check out process.

I think I will call Paypal tomorrow and explain the instance to them and insist that they make some real efforts into fixing this.

I am sure the guy I owed 230.00 to for the last week and a half is really appriciating this effort now.

That's great for you!  I tried it several times and PAD still won't come up for me though.  I have a few orders I placed yesterday that I need to pay for so I tried it step by step the way you did it and I get nothing.  It just shows that instant transfer is my option (or credit card) but no PAD   I see someone else got it to work too so I'm not sure why it won't work for me.  I've tried over and over exactly as you described but still no PAD.  I really wish I could get it to work.

Same thing happens to me on the second item. I'm already thinking of a strategy to get around it. Basically wait on checking out on the second item till I win another item then try checking out for the second item and use PAD and hold on to the third item till I win a fourth item and so on. My purchases on ebay went completely down once PAD wasn't available but may go up if this method works.

No way to fix it but only a work around it that might work for you like I have previously posted. In another thread someone from PayPal finally acknowledge that there's a glitch with PAD not appearing and that they're working on it to fix the problem. Don't know how long it's going to take but I hope it's asap.

Also I forgot to mention that with the method I came up it's not going to work with items that are buy it now and have immediate payment required.
