Paypal says my valid tracking number is invalid

I've tried entering the tracking number both ways, with and without spaces, to two of my orders so I can get the funds released but paypal keeps saying the tracking number is invalid even though it's a legit number. I don't want to get boned on this so what can I do?

You are scaring yourself silly. You need to wait longer.  You said you just dropped the packages off today.  When PayPal confirms delivery of packages through tracking, it will release payments 3 days after that.  More than enough time for PayPal to post an update on that. Come back on the 4th day from the date of delivery if the payments are not released.

I was always permitted to add a USPS tracking number immediately, never had to wait for it to enter the system.

When I use PayPal to print a shipping label directly from the PayPal transaction line, the tracking number (Priority Mail) is automatically entered and accepted.

In the past I would print the label from USPS.com and add it manually and immediately.

Which shipping class are you using?

Where did you pay for the postage?

It says tracking may be invalid now, but who knows if it will still say that in a couple of days.  If it still says invalid on PayPal after a couple days because the system does have delays in confirming delivery or you can't enter it, call PayPal up and speak with a rep and have them add it/track it.

How did you send out your packages? Priority Mail? First Class package? Media Mail, Parcel Post?  What's the expected delivery date showing on the tracking?  If USPS tracking says that the packages are accepted, it should list an expected delivery date.  You use those dates + 3 or 4 days as a deadline to call PayPal about it or check back with your account for any updates.

I sent it out First Class just to make sure I got a tracking number. Both packages are expected to be delivered on the 3rd. Thank you so much for the help. Total life saver.

When I print a Priority Mail label with PayPal it will enter the number automatically immediately.  This is on the evening when the shipping date is for the next day and before the is picked up.  On the transacton line it will show a shipped as soon as the tracking number is added.

We're missing some important information from the OP.

The OP said they had trouble adding it or tried adding it but it didn't take I believe.  They can try www.paypal.com/history to locate the transactions and open to transaction details, down to add tracking link to resubmit tracking that way.

I thought I was pretty straight forward with the information. Went to my activity history, clicked on one of the transactions then added the tracking number and labeled the order as shipped. The issue I was having was PayPal was saying my tracking number was invalid. Was just wondering why that was since it's a legit # from USPS. Honestly don't know what more information is needed. Either way, got the answer I needed.

How did you manage to add the tracking number to PayPal when you stated that the tracking number was invalid.  PayPal would automatically know it was shipped by the tracking number.

Are you doing all of this from your PayPal account?
