I am having trouble understanding Paypal transaction history formatting. I have been hoping year after year that paypal would improve their transaction history format to look more like a bank statement, but it seems that it has gotten even worse this year. I am going across my history for 2010 and my brain is hurting trying to make since out the inconsistent and incomprehensible method in which paypal formats debits and credits. In most cases I am seeing four entries for a single transaction. Three of the entries will be debits and one of the entries will be a credit. WHY? But other cases it is only two entries or one entry for a single transaction. I understand that when you make a purchase using paypal there are several things that go on before it is finalized. The same thing is true when you use your bank debit card, but you don't see all that on your bank statement, you just see the final charge or credit. Is there any way for me to download my transaction history in a format that would be like a bank statement, just showing final transaction amounts? It tried the download that says, "Balance effecting transactions only", but it just as bad as the other.
