Paypal's insulting replies to my questions.

I have never been so insulted in my life.  I have been trying to get an answer from paypal about the secure card plugin.  The only answers I get back are form answers saying how much they appreciate me being a paypal users.  It is so very insulting to ask a simple question and get an answer that has nothing to do with the question while at the same time telling me how much they appreciate me.  That's like being punched in the face by a person who is telling you they love you.  Has common decency and respect disappeared from our society?  Do I really want to to business with a company that has lost touch with it's customers to the point of insulting them if they ask a question?  Why won't they answer this simple question?

Hello, I know what you mean. They are treating there sellers poorly. I've heard that they find in favor of the buyers. Didn't really know this until it happened to me. I've been with PP since they started and had no problems until now. I sold a man in Poland a jacket ($317.)  sent it to him and he filled a dispute. I tried to e-mail him but no response. Pay Pal tried to e-mail him same thing. I gave PP the USPS customs number that showed the item leaving the US arriving at Polish customs and clearing them and going to the man. They stated that there was no signature.  The only way you can get that is to send it UPS or Fed Ex which would cost $150 as compared to USPS of $50. I would not sell any items if I had to ship UPS. Here I take a chance of selling worldwide making both PP & E-bay $'s when something happens they leave there sellers swinging in the breeze. They refunded back to the buyer my $317. he has my leather jacket. Now what do you think he is going to do? Tell everyone he knows how to take the US sellers on e-bay to the cleaners. Order as expensive of an item or items and when you get it do a dispute and get your money back & the items. Once this gets around Europe there will be a lot of losses for e-bay sellers. I can't get them to understand what happened. Just found out that you have to use PP if you sell on E-Bay. Sort of leaves us with no way to go. Talk about a stacked deck. At least Visa will stand behind there card holders and cover losses that are real. Looks to me that PP only takes in the %'s on our sales and pays out nothing to its sellers when they need to stand behind them in a situation like mine. Good luck if you sell worldwide!

Sellers on average win 2 out of 3 disputes, mostly because they know how to protect themselves and don't fight disputes that they can't win.

Sellers all over ebay are sending stuff overseas with little or no problems.

That means you did something wrong.

No, there is something arbitrary about the way Paypal makes their decisions.

Well, first of all, it's not Paypal making the decision - it's ebay.  ebay has been doing th disputes for more than a year now.  Even if you start the dispute in Paypal, it gets transferred to ebay, in this case, most likely ebay.de (germany).

The consumer rules in Europe are a lot different from North America.  The law is that the seller is responsible for arranging the pickup of the goods - it's really crazy and it's driving the sellers in the UK crazy.

That may be the source of that decision.

This happened to me too. A woman in germany filed a dispute claiming the item didn't match the description when in actuality it arrived slightly broken. Paypal deducted the payment from my account, refunded her, AND she gets to keep the item.  After several phonecalls I pursuaded Paypal to reconsider their decision. Still waiting.
