I thought PayPal's buyer protection would protect me from scammers, too, but it is the other way around! A clearly fraudulent seller who has undoubtedly received tons of complaints was treated like an honest broker and I was left with cheap crap that would have been prohibitively expensive to return. PayPal sided with the seller because they offered a "full" refund (less the costs of shipping, natch). The items took five months to reach me; there's no way they would get back to the seller (even if the shipping address in China was legit, which, having read several of these articles, I seriously doubt) before the end of the dispute period. I got burned and decided to write about it. If you want to contribute your experience, please contact me through my website at [removed]. All responses will be anonymized to protect your privacy.
