I cannot withdraw my funds for many weeks, support...

Whenever I try to withdraw my money, I get "Something went wrong, try again later".  So far in 3-4 weeks I opened around 4-5 tickets (because they are closed automatically), some pathetic excuses on why I cannot withdraw are:   - you need to clear your cookies (I did that, even thou I know it is a stupid answer) - your card is in the wrong currency (I added new cards, visa as you requested, same problem). - you need to logout and wait 3 days before logging back in, I did that, it didn't help, I cannot reply to ticket because it closed automatically in 24 hours. - your phone number is not verified, next to "Log out." Under 'Account Information', click Phone Number, next to phone number click confirm   There is no confirmation option next to phone number !!! It seems to be a new PayPal interface, if SO, you should be AWARE OF THIS !!! This is ridiculous and frustrating as hell !!!   ... View more

@shbajgora are you from Europe or US ? If you are from Europe, here is the link to consumer protection complaints:   https://ec.europa.eu/info/live-work-travel-eu/consumers/resolve-your-consumer-complaint/european-consumer-centres-network-ecc-net_en    I am filling one today because I am sick of this abuse from PayPal.    They make all kind of horrible tricks to try to force conversion rates on the customers. Many days ago I asked them to associate the right currency with my cards, it is still not done.  For my existent cards that were associated the correct currency (so they cannot charge me conversion rates) they hide these cards when I try to withdraw. ... I added my cards to PayPal so that I can withdraw funds to them, I am from Romania, local currency is RON, my PayPal funds are in USD... When I add a card, the currency associated with the card is eider GBP or RON, but never USD, so that when I try to withdraw funds, PayPal is forcing me to make a conversion I don't want to do. I contacted support and after some struggle, I was able to change card(s) currency to USD.    It worked to withdraw funds for a few times, now when I try to withdraw without conversion I get this: "Things don't appear to be working right now"   I waited around 30 minutes on the phone just to be hang up on me. I sent a message from message center asking why I am not able to withdraw, the only "reply" after days of waiting was this: "This conversation has been closed."    Does this mean PayPal is keeping my money if I am not accepting the forced absurd conversion rates ? Or what does the error mean ? ... View more

The error appears when you try to withdraw from USD balance to a card that has USD balance associated (or EUR to EUR in your case).  Basically when PayPal cannot charge you the absurd conversion fees, then you get an error instead of your money.  The other convenient trick they do is to hide your card when you try to withdraw and only show other cards in other currency, so you are charged conversion fees if you use those. ... Thanks but it's not that. That is why I have cards in 3 currencies, so I can pay whatever currency seller wants for his products/services. On a checkout page in EUR I want to pay with my EUR card without paypal or my bank converting anything. I also develop sites for 14 years, I can see the PayPal checkout page is doing funny things in order to force a conversion.   I select the card to pay with, and as soon as I select NOT to make a conversion paypal switches to another card (resulting in another conversion) unless I notice it and change card or conversion option again.  Also, why would I receive the ticket confirmation but no reply about this ? And why not just allow us to set the proper card currency when editing the cards in paypal account ?! Because they make tons of money from conversions. I am sure I would receive a fast reply after I fill some customer complaint forms with european authorities, that always make things work. ... View more

I am hoping someone from PayPal can have a look at this and get a reply from them ...   I have around 5 cards associated with PayPal, in USD, EUR and RON. PayPal always charges a different currency especially for automated payments where you have no option to switch currency ... For an EUR card paypal charges me in RON (converting the amount), then my bank also converts the amount from RON to EUR (card currency) when there should be no conversion at all, this is absurd.   I opened two tickets and specified correct currency for each card, I only got the confirmation email but no reply, last one was opened 11 days ago, this is the ID from subject line:   VV44REXGE (KMM134903673V98734L0KM) :ppEU Also when I make the payment manually, on checkout page after you select the right currency it also changes your card number, so if you are not careful you still end up with conversions.  Seeing these fishy practices makes me think PayPal earns more from conversions than from normal payment fees.    They say you need to contact them in order to associate correct currency, when you could just have a simple option when managing the cards. ... My account is verified and in good order, two valid cards on file.   Still no reply to my ticket (4 days now).   I called PayPal, robot voice was clear and told me to wait for an agent, then static noise started louder and louder untill I could not hear your "waiting" music anymore, I hang up.   Second try I got an agent, told me she is not sure what causes my problem but recommended to convert a balance amount to EUR, told me to wait to be transfered and she hang up the phone 🙂 (yes, I am sure).   Then from my USD balance I created an EUR balance and this fixed my problem, now the checkout page shows "paypal balance, then cards" as founding sources.    It used to do this automatically but not anymore it seems, the checkout page should have informed me about this.   Edit: silly me I thought this was just a glitch, but you don't see many bugs like these at such big companies, this is more like an intentional bug/glitch and what it actually causes is for me to add more funds into paypal without paypal sending the money they have in their accounts. I have 244 $ (180 Eur) in my PayPal balance, and I am trying to make a payment of 164 Eur.   The payment page asks me what card I want to use, If I continue like that it says that it failed to take cash from my card, I don't want PayPal to take more money from me, I want to pay with what I am supposed to have in the PayPal account.   I sent an email 2 days ago and I got no reply, I did get the confirmation message.
