Due to account security reasons, we do not have an option to send a verification code via email and it's sent via registered phone number. Please check with your phone service provider  if there is an option to activate International roaming for your phone number and to receive a text message. Hi @Nino_B    Thank you for your post. I certainly understand this must be concerning. I recommend you please advise your friend to do these basic troubleshooting steps:  1. Reboot the phone to refresh the network signal. 2. Clear phone inbox to ensure it is not full (for old phones with limited SMS capacity). 3. Check if there are any phone applications/settings that are filtering SMS. 4. Alternatively, you may ask them to swap the SIM to another phone to verify if the delivery issue is phone related. 5. If the issue still exist, they may need to contact their mobile phone carrier and ask them to turn on short-code text messaging as this could fix the issue.   Thank you Manju ... View more

Please note, if you updated the phone number recently, I recommend you to try again after 48-72 hours as it takes upto 72 hours to get refreshed in our database. I recommend you to login to your PayPal account and check your Resolution center to see if your account is limited. If yes, please follow these steps to resolve the limitation. If your account is not limited, it is likely that our internal security system might be stopping the transactions for security reasons. I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble with accessing your PayPal account since you are not receiving the verification code. Since you are trying to use your UK PayPal account, please ensure that your UK registered phone number has an option to receive the SMS in Portugal. If yes, follow these basic troubleshooting steps as most of the times following these steps would fix the issue.    1. Reboot the phone to refresh the network signal. 2. Clear phone inbox to ensure it is not full (for old phones with limited SMS capacity). 3. Check if there are any phone applications/settings that are filtering SMS. 4.
