Paypal's phone lines are closed, emails are not being answered and many accounts are locked with no one available to check requested submitted documents? I'm waiting three weeks for a routine address confirmation check to be done - with no response. That process should take someone about one minute to complete upon review. An accepted government-issued letter was submitted for verification. My follow up emails are not replied to. How can Paypal be so compromised for service with no other communication system in place? A huge worldwide financial services company that essentially cannot be contacted at this time. Is that acceptable in any country? Paypal's advice is simply to ask other uninformed customers for help on this Community platform. Let our customers spend their valuable time on the Community boards answering each other for us, because we don't have enough staff to provide adequate service when things go wrong. Interestingly, Ebay's chat system is in fact currently fully operational - despite most of their communications operations also being based in Manila. I've asked Ebay if they are aware of this current Paypal communications status, as it means Ebay is of course losing considerable revenue while there are many locked accounts unable to send or receive funds. I invited them to view the Community boards here to verify. Is there any plan for when moderate communication services at Paypal may resume? Yes I am aware of COVID-19. Paypal should be highly embarrassed for its complete lack of preparedness to deal with a large scale outage. A Paypal representative to answer please.
