HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

  Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them!  Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds,not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

I will continue to be a paypal customer and use it solely for transferring money on NON EBAY transactions.  I just came back to selling on Ebay and ran into this STUPID NEW RULE REGARDING HOLDS ON PAYMENTS TO SELLER'S. 

I will not be using ebay in the future.  PERIOD.  The Company is already in trouble financially due to a lack of users and their response is to make the process more cumbersome and burdensome for Sellers?  Great business model.  It won't be too long if they stay on this track before there will be a best offer option to purchase what will be left of the company.

There are other payment methods available, such as Western Union, Alert Pay, Money Gram, etc. But they all have fees and they all have certain restrictions. Online payments are a big hassle and I think they will continue to be that way... I mean, the companies are in business to make money - that is the sole purpose of a business. As circumstances change, they will continue to think up new ways of making money. And, with the market sucking so badly lately, they are not making much in investments and must make it somehow else. I am with you.  I know we are not the only ones.  I read in one of the chat rooms yesterday that one Seller had been told 80% of Sellers on ebay were having their funds withheld.  

I have placed a formal complaint with to Paypal regarding this.  I cannot continue with this policy as it is.  I need to ship items out and cannot because I cannot access my funds to do so. This is no way to run a business.    I have supplies, inventory, etc to pay for which comes out of this account.....needless to say; I am very disappointed and frustrated at this time.

Place a complaint....maybe, if enough Sellers; and, I am sure they are out there, did so we could get some resolution.

I'm going to Postal Money Orders.  This new policy s****.  I think they forgot about how much money they're making on the fees as it is.  I can no longer sell with this policy in effect.  They say you can speed up payment by meeting certain criteria but that hasn't change anything.

I'm really disappointed.

I also received the 21 day hold yesterday, thank god I don’t sell as much as some people on here, but I do sell a fair amount of items.  I was a great way to put something up for sale using eBay and Paypal for the average person but no longer do they want us I guess.  So if I do sell items again on eBay I’ll have to ask for money order or something.

I agree-I sell very little, and when I do I need the money in my PayPal account to mail the item. Last week I had to use money from my bank account to mail my items as ALL my money was on hold. Doesn';t PayPal say have Proof you mailed the item-I think the PayPal Debit Card is pretty good proof it was mailed. By the time I get home from the PO,I have already received a email saying my PayPal debt card was used at my PO and gives the amount-theres the proof I mailed the item.

SO GIVE ME MY MONEY-DAMNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!       I sold an item the first part of Sept. already received positive feedback,and still the money is ON HOLD.. Items I sold after that, are now just getting off HOLD-What's up with that? But not that one.I noticed also that the higher the $$$$ amount the longer it stays on HOLD.Are they paying me interest on this? I think not.

And the FEES!!! I am just small time-don't sell alot-but list alot-Sold only $114.00 so far and my fees are $45.00 hardly worth selling on here. Frankly I do better on Craigslist. NO FEES EITHER.

I want  Money Orders to.     PayPal still charges you the Fees-but at least you have the shipping money.

PayPal could AT LEAST-have the Shipping Cost money available in our account.

Yep Ebay **bleep** and is no longer a nice place to be.

They send survey's all the time I just delete them-Because none of them ask HOW We (They) are doing.Just how my last seller was.

I DO SELL A LOT ON EBAY AND I AM NOT GOING TO WAIT 2 TO 3 WEEKS FOR FUNDS TO CLEAR AFTER I HAVE SHIPED AND THE BUYER HAS RECEIVED THE ITEM. WHY DONT I HAVE THE MONEY AVAILABLE?

THIS NEW POLICY IS CAUSING ME TO SERIOUSLY THINK ABOUT CONTINUING WITH PAYPAL AT ALL IN THE FUTURE.

Thats true ! It Doesnt help if u do everything as instructed. This was my first and last sale on Ebay. The buyer received 9-29 left a very positive feedback 10-4 . Im glad they fit and she liked BUT wheres my money?? I called Ebay 3 days after the buyer left pos feedback oct 7. Ebay said they would put in a request for paypal to release funds within 24 Hrs. ..well....that didnt happen. If they dont pay..they need to return my boots plus shipping!! LIARS & THIEVES!!!

You and me both bud. I'm in the same boat, and I think they can care less. I have had my credit union fax them (at their request). I have reentered the correct account number over and over. Who's running Paypal? A bunch of chimps in a zoo?

I just notified my leading bidder that I won't accept paypal payments until i get my account straightened out. I gave him the option of withdrawing his bid if he likes. I'll take my chances with a strangers check before trusting Paypal to get anything right.

Please explain how to get up to standard so i can release this hold.  I have all positive feedback ---and one comment about shipping charge, which i guess makes me below standard.  How do you fix it so your $ can be released.  This really is not fair, when you don't have control of what you have earned.
