HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them!  Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds, not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

I am rethinking using Paypal also.  They are obviously in bed with Ebay.  They put my funds on hold for 21 days but they paid themselves.  They should have put the whole payment on hold.  Instead Paypal took their fee first and then put the remaining funds on hold.  I think Paypal should really rethink the way they want to treat their customers.  This business won't last for long this way!!! I refuse to ship my item until I get my funds as Payment.  So the buyer will have to wait until funds are clear just like checks and banking.  You don't get to receive an item until it's paid for first.

HELLO not to be rude but don't you know Pay Pal and eBay are one in the same now and have been for years. They are both owned by the same person.

eBay purchased PayPal in July of 2002.  It still surprises me too that people are not aware of this fact.  eBay is the parent company of PayPal and is a publicly traded company under the stock symble ebay.

Here is a good site for watching eBay's stock and provides up to the minute news on eBay plus earlier articles.

Does everyone here not know that Ebay bought paypal? They get their money anyway.

Why would I ship something I haven't gotten aid for? I have 100% perfect rating, no disputes or complaints, and I have to wait for my money???

I told them I wasn't shipping until I got the money, and they have to send an email to the buyer as to why I was waiting.

I suggest everyone who has their money held NOT to ship, and then call paypal and tell them to send an email explaining the delay.

What they are telling you, in essence, is that Ebay doesn't want your business; go away. That is ultimately what they are saying.

Yes I think everyone knows that eBay owns PayPal and yes you are right they are getting money anyways and you are right about them wanting you to go away I think they are doing this to **bleep** everyone and make a profit the STUPID CEO of eBay and PayPal's Ceo are talking and I think they want to **bleep** everyone so I think the founder of eBay should hire new peopleand FIRE them because they are not making anyone happy and this is one of the reasons I do not sell on eBay that much due to the fact that my account has been hacked 10 times and has gotten auctions where I do not even own the items selling like 6 of everything and I do not know why I would own 6 of the same thing which cost so much money for each one and put them under my name.. eBay does not handle hackers very well..

I am just about to close eBay for good i have found ebid.net a better site which you can sell for Free and only get charged if your item sells that is a great deal! You may accept any kind of payment and even accept Google Checkout

This is for everyone that PayPal has managed to infuriate, rip off,  make false accusations against and with-hold their funds from (I am one of you):

I found a great site and found all kinds of  information and used this to get my funds back and ironically, PayPal had just informed me that they were holding my funds for 180 days.  Once I wrote the the California Department of Justice, The CEO's of both eBay and PayPal a miracle happened.......PAYPAL RELEASED MY $150.81 IMMEDIATELY.   Unfortunately, the executive offices sent me an email telling me they wanted to part ways with me........LIKE THAT WOULD UPSET ME, ALL I WANTED WAS MY MONEY FOR THE ITEMS I SOLD!  By the way I am using my dad's account to inform everyone of this info as they won't let me get into this site!  I had the balls to stand up to them!

DO NOT LET PAYPAL OR EBAY INTIMIDATE YOU

1.  File a complaint with the California Department of Justice - use thier website:  http://www.calbar.ca.gov  to file your complaint.  They will want to know PayPals address:

2211 North First Street

San Jose, CA  95131

Phone:  1-888-215-5506

CONTACT INFORMATION:

California Department of Justice

http://www.calbar.ca.gov

File a complaint, if they continue to get bombarded with complaints perhaps they will do something about it and end all the BS PayPal dishes out, perhaps they will shut them down and make them pay EVERYONE they have ripped off.

Finally, I urge you to close any bank account or credit card info you have provided to Paypal.  While they were holding my funds, they went into my personal account and took out $31.12 without my authorization.  Thankfully my bank reversed this.

Best of luck to you, this worked for me within 24 hours!

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU.  I AM VERY HAPPY THAT YOU FOUND THE DOOR TO OPEN.  I WILL NOT BUY FROM EBAY ANYMORE, BUT MOST SITES ON THE INTERNET USE PAYPAL.  I BUY A LOT FROM AMAZON BUT THEY DON'T REQUIRE PAYPAL.  IT IS ABOUT TIME THAT SOMEONE WILL STEP IN & STOP THEIR ILLEGAL ACTIONS.

I sold my first item on ebay for a single sale little over $1100.00 and is holding my money. I think I should be earning interest on my money since they are using my money while it's on hold? What if the buyer decides to say he never received item and lies? I guess the seller is out of luck. Will never use ebay or paypal to sell or buy again!

I agree with what your saying. Since they bought paypal they have you coming in the front door and at the back door in fee's. I've been with them for over 12+yrs and getting real tired. Why In **bleep** do they charge seller's a fee on the shipping in the final value fee's???? Total greedy SOB's.. We don't pocket that money. Goes to shipping. I've had great results on creagslist. Be very carfull of who you deal with. I've set up a separate sav ings account In another bank. I give the account number to the buyer and tell them to deposit the payment that way. Then verify payment via ATM or online. Banks will take deposits. After I conferm payment has been made I ship the Item and withdraw the money. Just In case someone tries to get funny.. I also do check and Postal Money Orders this way. I've built up a rep where I sell and people can contact me via a prepaid cell  number If they have any questions. Made a boat load of money this way and no ebay and paypal fee's.. Yay......
