Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them! Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds, not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

STRAYING FROM THE SUBJECT AND PROMOTING ONE'S POLITICAL PARTY does not improve the dialogue. But since the door has been opened, I would offer this comment. There is one thing that all of us must agree on, regardless of political ideology: We cannot afford to "stay the course" as RSPAWN suggests -- the stakes are much too high and the economic experts forecast economic disaster if we do so (Think: Greece, Spain, etc.) China, our largest debtor, has warned Pres. Obama to stop spending so much, but he has continued to do just the opposite. At the recent G-20 Summit, the European leaders rejected the U.S. Pres' strategy encouraging more spending; instead, they are urging fiscal conservatism (i.e. their trending economic strategy is in direct opposition to that of the U.S. under its current President).
Isn't it odd that those in the international community realize the disastrous road we're traveling on under the current Administration's economic policies and that the American people can't see it? We all need to take a step back and look at the situation intelligently and objectively and take a common sense approach. When you're on a very limited and tight budget, and can't afford more spending, you don't go on a spending spree! When we elect our government representatives, we need to make sure that they have the wisdom, experience and patriotic desire to put our country first and do what's best for its people. We cannot afford to elect government representatives who are more concerned with their own personal political ambitions and ideologies. Step back and ask yourself: Are your government representatives truly representing you or themselves?

Check this out: this is not a political discusssion forum! On politics we all have different views. Now if you really want to talk about liars, how about RICHARD NIXON AND THAT 18-SOMETHING MINUTE GAP IN THAT WATERGATE CONSPIRACY??? And no one was the biggest liar of them all ( I feel ) other than J. Edgar Hoover!! But like I said, only opinions here my friend.
We're here to discuss how we all can make make some money or buy stuff online that way we all used to without a lot of B.S. & nonsense. And as far as Obama is concerned, he's only playing the cards he was dealt. And he's going to change the deck soon.

Let me understand this. I posted an item. It lists for a week. If that item sellsat the end of the week and money is processed through Palpal, they can hold it for upto 21 days. At the end of those twenty one days I can transfer to my checking account which takes 3-5 WORKING days. Which could by all circumstances include a weekend bringing the money to nearly 30 days.
The customer is told that the seller has 3 days to get that product in the mail and out to them. I am a seller that mails the same day that the item is purchased. I add a shipping confirmation onto my packages. I feedback same day and following up to see if they liked it. I send sometimes a second package free to good customers. Now when these customers purchase and process their payment I normally transfer the funds that day so that I can have money to go to the post office. I am forced to find other money to ship items to customer now. Looks to me like it's all in the favor of the buyer.
One hundred percent bad business. I have 4 items listed presently to use for a vacation. Ebay makes money in the set up of a sell and the end of a sell. Paypal makes money for processing. Looks like everyone gets their money first but the seller. We are forced to wait. How does this not seem like a punishment to us? I have great feedback, all good feedback comments. I confirm the deliveries. No one has returned their product to me and I have money in my bank account to cover my month service fees for add. So where does my account apply to this withholding problem?
I do not understand this at all. I am so disappointed this morning. I even tried to go back and de-click paypal from my items that I'm listing and it said that I needed to put some sort of electronic payment down for the change. All of those programs have fees and waiting time.
I think all of us are truly stuck.

And all of this information was available to you BEFORE you listed in many different forms.
And nobody forced you to list on ebay.

That's not the point Mr. Super Advisor. Money held is money losy. Alot of us use the money we make to purchase more products ASAP. So if I have to wait up to 30 days then I loose alot of money. ALso, what if the buyer forgets to leave feedback. Why should we be punished for the buyer not doing so. Not fair at all. My sale was made on 6/29 paypal states they will release it on 7/20 ..... Things will have to change or the seller will make you guys feel the pressure.

For those of you who think holding funds for 21 days is just plain wrong; I suggest a mass snail mailing to the President of Paypal.
The address is:

I so agree. I can't even put into words how much BS this is. I'm also a 100% seller and I shipped the item out quickly on my tab and tried to comunicate with the buyer to leave feedback on my ebay account to try and get my money released. Nothing yet still waiting but paypal got there money right away.If this is the way they are going to do business I'm done with them .

The Justice Department should investigate eBay and Paypal, who protect us from scammers by scamming us themselves. I just sold something 21 days ago. eBay charged me fees. PayPal charged me fees. PayPal will make more money off of me by using my money INTEREST FREE for 21 days!! This is supposed to be for buyer protection but that is BS. PayPal and eBay are tightly integrated and are also tightly integrated to all major shipping companies. The tracking number I supplied to eBay, to PayPal and to the buyer has already been confirmed received 17 or 18 DAYS AGO! No negative feedback has been received and STILL my money is in PayPal's grubby fingers.
I drafted a letter this morning to New York's attorney general because I believe the policies in place are an abuse of the link between PayPal and eBay and an abuse to their customers. The technology is in place to automate releases a few days after products are received. I believe there should be a hold but for pete's sake even international checks at my bank clear in only 10 days.
