Andy - can we have it interrupted by zombies?  That would fit perfectly.  Oh, and I'm casting Seth Rogen as you, sir.  It's about time he was in a zombie movie.  Smiley Happy

I second that emoticon!

LuckyL,

First of all, thank you for taking the time to look for the answer. The self help options may not always have the answer, but it's a good thing to start there. I love helping any customer, but I am especially gratified to help someone who's done some legwork already!

I wish I could follow that up with great news. The reality is that PayPal is not designed to accommodate gift cards and other stored value cards. When a credit card is added to the system, it needs to be validated as belonging to someone. Cards that are not associated with your name and address typically will not work. In the circumstances where they pass the initial checks, they often fail on subsequent checks. In the rare circumstances where a purchase can actually be made, further problems can happen if a refund needs to be made because it goes right back to that card, often after the physical card has been discarded, making the funds difficult if not impossible to recover.

Gift cards are best used as a direct payment tool. I also recommend hanging onto the card long after the payment is made, in case anything goes wrong. For use with PayPal, a traditional credit card is the best option.

If your friends ever want to give you a stored value card that can be used with PayPal, they should look into Green Dot MoneyPak.

I hope this helps!

Olivia

Hi everyone -

I will have to admit my life is full of "unwanted" drama with a little comedy thrown in. I am really not sure who would cast me? Help me out here, what do you all think?

Heh,  sorry to hear that Andy.. I'm the same way but due to the caffeine I'm always consuming.. but I've been making an effort to drink less.

I honestly have no clue who I'd cast as anyone on here, sorry I can't help, I just don't have enough info and those pictures are tiny on my little monitor.

I've used prepaid cards successfully every time in the past, and I always keep them afterwards even if the product purchased isn't something I would or could return. I have a bunch in my little "just in case" box.

So I take it making larger purchases will be impossible for me with my cards? I've been told to get a customizable/reloadable prepaid card but I don't know where I'd get that.

LuckyL,

That's correct, there isn't a way to split the funding among multiple cards, and there isn't a way to empty the funds from the card into your account. I don't believe there's a way to move funds from one card to another to combine them outside of PayPal, either. I know that at a point of sale in an actual brick-and-mortar store, it is possible to use multiple cards, but I have not seen that as an option for paying online. You might consider checking with the card issuer to see if they have a method for combining the funds on multiple cards that they've issued.

Smart move having that "just in case" box. Just don't let that lead to you becoming a hoarder... I have a house full of stuff (clothes, fabric, toys, tools, storage containers, connectors for electronics I have long since lost, etc.) that I'm afraid to throw out, "just in case!"

Hey, that's ok!  You're here, you're answering the ice breakers, and getting some questions answered all at once.  If it were a choice between hold music and this, I'd take this any time Smiley Happy

LuckyL-  Thanks for commiserating with me there.  I'm trying to cut back on the caffeine too but at this point, what I do have coursing through my veins is just making me odd at the speed of sound. 🙂

And don't feel too bad about not being able to choose actors to play us. I know everyone in here personally and I can't even think of who'd play them.

I guess I'll ask the seller if they can split my one order through multiple invoices, I hope that'd work.

Thanks for all your help and keep it up guys and gals!

My life would be an original and unique film the closest I can come up with would be an Action filled Comedic Drama.  Blow meets Caddyshack meets Into the Wild.  I would be played by a young Peter Fonda.

That's... kind of awesome.

Now I wish you had a real picture as your avatar so I could imagine it better.
