Is anyone else having problems with finding the Android 2.x Paypal application in the Market? I understand that it shows up for some people but not for others. I think Paypal needs to flag the application to work on certain phones but it appears that they haven't been very good at that. I have one of the most popular and capable phones out right now (the HTC EVO) and it has been out since June.
Is anyone else having this problem? Any chance that someone from Paypal can send it to me?

Hi everyone,
I haven't been able to reproduce the inability to locate the app, and I have tested on multiple Android devices. I absolutely believe you that you can't find it, but I am having a hard time finding a solution because I can't duplicate the problem. I did look at the Help page of the Android website and there is a known issue for some people who are not able to find specific apps on their phone. The page has a list of things to make sure don't apply to you, and then a button to click to report the issue if you're still experiencing it.
Currently, the app for Android devices is only available through the Android market.

Thanks for addressing the issue. I think, due to your suggestion, I found the reason why it is not showing up for certain people.

"I have the samsung epic 4g its a galaxy s phone, I can't find paypal in the android market. Is there a reason? Report abuse etherealglimpse Level 1 10/7/10 I Have a samsung epic 4g. This is a samsung galaxy s phone. Its on the sprint network. I am wondering why I can't find paypal in the android market. I search for paypal and I get 59 other apps. I go to the paypal mobile website and click on get paypal app and it goes into the android market, which responds that the app can not be found. What is going on? Replies 1 - 3 of 3 GK802 Level 2 10/7/10 Paypal is a Protected Application, which means it has Google Market DRM. Unfortunately for you (and me since I also have an Epic 4g), this means until Google registers the D18 firmware update in their systems, we are blocked from accessing any protected apps. See http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Android+Market/thread?tid=5beec9bb642f0e10&hl=en and bump the thread for exposure :) 1 of 1 people found this answer helpful. Did you?"

Thanks thiggy!
Since Sprint/Samsung just released Froyo 2.2 EB13 the other day, FROYO.EB13 will also have to be added to the approved hardware.
FYI, Discover Mobile and several other "protected" apps also don't show up on non-approved hardware.
If you search around you can find paypal.apk downloads that work on the device.

Hi I may be able to help.
We sell tablet androids and have designed a few as well. One of the problems is you may if you bought your phone from overseas have a copy. I have myself by accident don e this. It really is just an extra step that you need to do to get the correct market up . Go on the web on your phone and go to the actual android market site. If you save it or markt the site as a favorite you can access it there. If you know you have a real version of your phone you can do the same. But I might take it back to the ATT or verizon store and see if they dont have an easier fix.
