Wescot balance owing not the same as Paypal

I have a negative balance with PayPal currently amounting to -£40 which I intend to payback within a week or so. I was contacted by Wescot as I forgot about this and had an amount owing to Wescot. I payed into my PayPal to take it down from -£90 but the Wescot value remains the same and still owes. I am not going to pay twice to Wescot and PayPal so how do I resolve this. I have contacted support to no avail.

Hi @RockyLee,

Welcome to the community and thank you for your post!

I do understand your concern with this. When your PayPal balance is left negative, the debt is passed on to an external debit agency.

When paying off your owed debt, if you make a payment through the debt agency (Wescot), this would mean you are paying off your PayPal balance. You don't have to make two separate payments.

Once you have paid off your PayPal balance either directly through us, or the debt collector you would be able to use your PayPal account again. You may need to contact our Customer Support to have any locked or restrictions removed from your account.

To contact us, simply click here. Alternatively, you can contact us via Facebook https://www.facebook.com/PayPal or Twitter @AskPayPal.

I hope this helps!
