Cannot link foreign currency bank account

My home currency is EUR and I'm trying to link my USD account to paypal. I had to confirm the deposits in EUR, but in my account they were in USD. I have tried both using the same figures and converting them in my home currency. It didn't work. Now it looks like paypal doesn't even let me try linking the same account. I'd try linking another of my USD accounts. How should I do it this time?

You can add a US bank account opened on US soil but not a digital or virtual bank account or a USD currency account.
