Hi, Alesha

I just tried sending Crypto again in a new transaction.  I got the same error and was told it by Crypto Support the issue is being caused by PayPal's Security System and there is nothing that can be done to fix it.  Is that correct, which is to say can't I take steps to keep this from happening?

Hello @Somebodynew999

Thanks for reaching back out on the Community Forum!

I understand you've contacted Customer Support, and they informed you that the transaction was denied due to PayPal's Security System. I'm very sorry to hear that. You were informed correctly that the Security System cannot be overridden. The Security System reviews every transaction made through PayPal, and if it determines there's a higher-than-average risk, it can limit the payment methods available or stop it from going through altogether.

If you review this Help Center article, you can find some troubleshooting steps for declined payments. They will not all apply to your situation since yours is regarding cryptocurrency, but some might help. I also have a few more. First, wait 48 hours before trying to make your next crypto transaction. Then, whenever you log into your PayPal account, ensure you use one consistent device. After that, restart your device or at least disconnect and reconnect it to the internet to ensure you have a strong connection. Turn on your location services and clear the cache and cookies on your favorite device. When you're ready, make only one attempt at sending crypto. If that one attempt does not go through, please reach out to Customer Support. They may have additional options after only one attempt.

I hope you're able to make the crypto transaction soon!

- Meghan
