Recently we used Paypal linked to our CHF credit card to pay a person based in Switzerland but paypal converted it to EUROs and charged crazy FX difference on transaction. How did this happen?

Hi @Purdy120,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the community!
I'm sorry to hear that the transaction was in a currency that was not expected. If the recipient specified EUR for the transaction through a button or link, the transaction would be conducted in that currency and the payor would be charged in that currency.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
Olivia
