Paypal fails and my funds are on hold

I'm trying to purchase something from B&H and am using paypal so i don't have to pay currency conversion fees. I successfully complete the initial authorisation through paypal which causes my bank to put funds on hold so they are inaccessible.

For whatever stupid reason I have to reauthorise with paypal but I can't because my bank has already put the funds are on hold and they are inaccessible for 24 hours.

Wtf is going on with this checkout process. It is getting infuriating and just wasting my time as I have to wait ANOTHER 24hrs for the funds to be released by my bank

Transactions sometimes fail. Could be bad or weak server or internet connection or signal.

I'm not even getting that far, I successfully complete the authorisation process but for whatever reason PayPal insists I authorise it again which causes it to fail.....
