When you add a bank account to paypal it sets up the direct debit mandate so that paypal can take authorised payments for any purchases you make (or pay your Ebay fees).
No company eg water/electric can take funds from your bank account on a regular basis without that direct debit.
However the amount shown is always the ''last'' transaction / amount that you paid to a seller via paypal.

Sometimes it does not coincide with the date you made the payment as paypal CREDIT the seller in advance and then paypal wait for the funds to transfer from your bank account, they can 'leave' that account at anytime from a few hours up to a few days later. Also the 'amount' can sometimes not be recognised if you used it as a part-payment with the rest coming from funds already in your paypal balance.

every now n then i panic (justifiably so) when see a direct debit i do not recognise, and i too simply delete payments or spend hours having a go at bank/paypal etc because of it-JPMC being the latest.

After a few mins corrolating direct debits with paypal via phone i realised that dodgy as looks, the last 3 direct debit (so called by my banking app anyway) concerning jpmc was in fact legitimate purchases i had made, mainly via google play, for an app i bought/upgraded on google,my online storage costs via google, and my web cam storage again via google, but paid by paypal as thats method i chose to pay by.

so yes,i would always advise checking, and if after check unable find reason for it go mad about it-but so far jpmc paypal payments for me at least seem legit purchases i had forgot paid via paypal 😜

In upcoming transactions it says Direct debit Paypal JPMC RE PAYPAL INTL LTD -£15 and I’m so confused as to what that means, is it going to take money out of my account?

None of the bank payments match to the paypal transactions.

Sometimes they don't if you split a payment between bank and using part from your balance?

This is happening to me with the same company, there is a DD set up which I have never authorised and never signed.  My bank has no evidence of the mandate yet they have been paying it.  The amounts are random ranging from 2.00 to over 100, sometimes they have taken money 3 days in succession, this has been going on for a long time and is now under investigation as PayPal said the payments are authorised.  I can only actually see this years transacations £29.99 a month company is badged as LinkedIn Ireland, I am a UK resident and my account is UK.  I would never set up a direct debit via PayPal.
