If you linked your bank account to your paypal account then you would have done as per my post above.

Did you pay an ebay seller for those amounts?

I think I've sorted it. Normally in my bank statement Paypal transactions say " Paypal Payment" or

" From Paypal" but "JPMC re Paypal" was new. These are all the same. What also confused me was that

somehow Paypal had saved up the payments and then sent 2 weeks payments over just 2 days. When you set up with paypal

it is done as a DD. I cancelled the DD and now have re-instated it. Now all is well. I hope that is helpful Chris

I’ve just found the same thing on my account. It equates to a recurring payment for Netflix in my case, but… it used to simply say who the payment was going to, rather than a random Chase Account. It seems to be a recent change that I don’t recall being advised of.

I’m my case it was HelloFresh. Food delivery 📦 I forgot I’ve set up PayPal as preferred method of payment.

So I noticed on my bank transactions that there had been a direct debit monthly payment of £15.99 for the last few months that I do not remember authorising. It states that it is “JPMC re PayPal” but I don’t see it in my PayPal account statements. I’ll be contacting my bank ASAP once they’re open but I’m beyond confused! I’m sure it’s a scam at this point, has this happened to anyone else?

When you add a bank account to paypal it sets up the direct debit mandate so that paypal can take authorised payments for any purchases you make (or pay your Ebay fees).
No company eg water/electric can take funds from your bank account on a regular basis without that direct debit.
However the amount shown is always the ''last'' transaction / amount that you paid to a seller via paypal and not a monthly amount.

Sometimes it does not coincide with the date you made the payment as paypal CREDIT the seller in advance and then paypal wait for the funds to transfer from your bank account, they can 'leave' that account at anytime from a few hours up to a few days later. Also the 'amount' can sometimes not be recognised if you used it as a part-payment with the rest coming from funds already in your paypal balance.

I received an email from Barclays saying a new direct debit has been set up on my account.  The vendor is JPMC RE PAYPAL.  Does anyone know what this might relate to?
