a friend sent me $600 as a purchase/service... then I cancelled it and the person resent me the $600 as friend/family.

That went through fine.

I went to instant-withdraw it and it flagged the transfer, asked me to confirm my ID in the app... but then didn't move towards the next step in that process.

Ive received and transferred money this way about 5-6 times before in the past month or two.

Now I can't confirm ID, I can't cancel the transfer, I can't do anything.... what happened?

Paypal assistant says:

Transaction ID: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Amount: $ 600.00
Date: MAR 20, 2022

11:18 PM

Your transfer for $600.00 USD which you began on March 20, 2022 has been delayed. To provide one of the safest online payment services, our internal security system reviews every transaction before it's released. This type of review can happen for various reasons. For example, you may have received a higher-than-usual amount of money into your account, you may be logging in from an insecure network, or you may have made changes to your account settings recently.

You won't be charged the instant transfer fee if one was applied to this transaction. Once 24-72 hours have passed, your transfer should be processed normally and you will receive the money in your CARD within 30 minutes.

Log on through the website to confirm ID etc. probably can’t do that stuff via app.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

I tried that right away... The app, phones browser, and laptop... None of them give me an option in transfers, account actions, or anywhere else to confirm identity. It's like the choice to do so disappeared. I also can do any other action like cancel related to the pending transfer Basically it says I need to take action, but won't let me take any action of any kind

They are probably reviewing it to make sure you are not breaking paypal rules and using the friends/family option to negate paying any fees due for goods/services payments.

If you go to the resolution centre then any requests to upload information is normally on there.
