Will paypal use my paypal balance and bank balance to pay for something?

Hi, I wanting to buy an item and will have some money in my paypal. I would like to know if there is insufficient funds in my paypal,for example £100 but the item is £200, will it try to use the money in the paypal balance and whatever amount left needed from my bank or will something else happen. Thanks!

Yes, you can. Hmm, apparently in the UK, this is possible according to Where’s my refund? But not in the US. Or the documentation is out of whack.
