TAX ID Hold

Good day, I have received $600+ via Paypal invoice but have now received a Tax Hold ID on my account from the most recent payment. I am not a US resident, nor have I visited or anything of the sort and clicking add Tax ID just returns to the summary page with this error code in the browser address bar:

(Paypal)/myaccount/?status=FAILURE&statusCode=NOT_APPLICABLE

Are there any solutions for this?

Hello @Hidden_Derper

Welcome! Thanks for visiting the PayPal Community Forum. I'm sorry to hear you've run into some issues with a recent Tax Hold. I can understand how concerning this must be. I pulled the following information from this Help Center article on Tax Holds:

"If you have received at least $600 USD in payments for goods and services in one calendar year and are not a US tax resident, completing a Certificate of Foreign Status will release your tax ID hold(s) and help you avoid backup withholding when you’re paid.

Note: Certificate of Foreign Status must be renewed every three years."

You can learn more about this on the IRS website listed in that Help Center article.

I hope that helps!
