Stop PayPal from converting USD to EUR when withdrawing

Hello,

For some reason, PayPal insists on automatically converting my USD to EUR before transferring them to my account. The IBAN / Bank Account I have added to my PayPal is for and accepts USD. When I go ahead and try to withdraw my USD balance to that account, PayPal tries to convert it to EUR (while taking a hefty exchange commission of course).

I am from Romania, the USD account is on Revolut and it's a USD account. I would like to be able to withdraw my USD without any conversion.

Thanks

Hi @VapAndrei,

Thank you for your post!

I do understand your concern with this. When you add a bank account to your PayPal account, the currency is automatically set in the country your PayPal account is registered in.

For example, if your PayPal account is registered in Romania, then your bank account would be in EUR. We don't have the ability to update the currency on your bank account I'm afraid.

If you want to withdraw USD via your PayPal account, you would need to withdraw using a card. Once you add a card to your PayPal account, the currency can then be updated to USD. You will then be able to withdraw in USD without any conversion.

I hope this helps!
